Maryland State Law requires volunteers, including Parent Volunteers, complete annual Child Abuse Training prior to serving as a school volunteer (in any capacity, including field trip/chaperones). Child Abuse Training provides volunteers with the opportunity to learn about child abuse reporting procedures when abuse is suspected. We are asking that each of our volunteers complete Child Abuse Training prior to assisting in school. Thank you again for your participation in our school and helping to ensure that each of our students remains safe.
Once you have viewed the presentation, please download and print the certificate of completion and return it to Two Rivers Elementary School.
AACPS also requires a background check. See AACPS Policy link for more information to determine which of the following two options is best for you.
This option is free and involves making an account on ScreenID and filling out information. Turn-around time is 2-3 weeks. After completion, contact TRES to let them know to be on the lookout for your approval.
This option is $63 and involves fingerprinting in-person and filling out a background check form. At the completion of this process, a fingerprint verification card is issued, be sure to keep it on you at all times while on school grounds and provide a copy to the school! The turnaround time for this option is significantly faster at two to three days. The AACPS fingerprint office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is located in the Carol S. Parham Building at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis. Fingerprinting is done by appointment only. Please call 410-222-5045 to make an appointment.
